136 Taiwanese IT Products to Benefit from Expanded ITA Tariff Scheme
December 18, 2015
The Ministry of Economic Affairs said that 136 Taiwanese IT products are going to enjoy the benefits of WTO's (World Trade Organization) expanded ITA (Information Technology Agreement), including LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) device components, integrated circuits, digital cameras, TVs, STBs (Set-top Box), polarizers, SSDs (Solid State Drive), smartphone components and memories, reported Commercial Times on December 18. Taiwanese manufacturers are expected to save around US$820 million in annual tariff expenses due to the conclusion of expanded ITA at the WTO conference on Wednesday where members agreed to remove tariffs on 201 IT products within seven years beginning in July next year at the earliest.
